Idiopathic Thrombocytopaenia in Nigerian Children
Abstract
Summary: The clinical and haematological features of acute idiopathic thrombocytopaenic purpura (ITP), as well as the response to treatment in 13 children seen at University College Hos pital, Ibadan, Nigeria over a five-year period are described. The gencral picture of the condition in the present series is one of an explosive illness, sometimes of great severity, but usually self-limiting and associated with a good prognosis.
